Put Your Thoughts on Ice

Secure that House with X10 Motion Sensors

June 25, 2008 By Hanna

Have you ever visited someone’s home and had the lights flip on just as you were walking up the sidewalk. If you’re not expecting it, it can definitely be a surprise. That element of surprise is a wonderful thing if there is an intruder outside. What about if noises, lights, sirens and phone calls were added to the picture?

I’ve been on The Home Automation Store website for the past hour or so and I’m so excited about the selection of motion sensors they offer. These motion sensors can be used to trigger so many deterring reactions! I never knew there were so many options available!

Let’s take the X10 ActiveEye Motion Sensor (MS16A) for example. This sensor, used in conjunction with other x10 products, can be set up to trigger various lights or appliances around the house to turn on when motion is detected. Wouldn’t it be fun to have the radio programmed to turn on when an intruder is detected at the window? Voices sure could lead to second thoughts! This sensor can also transmit a signal to a two-way computer which can be programmed to go through a preset sequence of events within the home.

The X10 EagleEye Motion Sensor (MS14A) also looks very interesting! When motion is detected a siren will sound and lights flash to ward off the intruder. Here the best part though, with this one, you can actually use it with the Protector Plus Voice Dialer to call 4 phone numbers when motion has been detected! Imagine, you’re away from home and the security system calls your cell phone and you can actually listen to your home to see if there is a need to call for further assistance. This has got to be a great way to bypass the cost of a monitoring company and the police when it’s only a cat walking by the house! If things sound suspicious, you yourself have the option of calling the police in to check it out. You’ve got to check out the rest of the details for this great product on The Home Automation Store website!

I noticed a wireless motion sensor on this sight as well. It is the X10 Home Security Wireless Motion Detector (MS10A). From what I can tell, it looks like it offers some of the same great effects mentioned above but without running the wiring!

There are so many neat automotive gadgets on this site! It looks like investing into X10 products is the way to go too because you can use the products in conjunction with lights, appliances, your sprinkler system and so much more!
