Outfitting Building Exteriors With Metal Cladding

November 2, 2010 By Hanna

Is your commercial building old and outdated? Are you looking for a way to renovate and rejuvenate the appearance of your building? The overall exterior appearance of your building can be very important to your customers. As they approach the building, are they stuck looking at a dreary, outdated facade? If so, it is time for you to update your building to the 21st century architectural trends.

If relocating or rebuilding is entirely too expensive and out of the question, consider installing exterior cladding to elevate style and aesthetics. It can greatly enhance the overall exterior appearance while also protecting the building and improving its life span.

Cladding is basically the installation of a metal (or sometimes plastic) surface in order to protect the roof or walls. Consider all of the natural elements that your building endures on a daily basis. From wind, snow, rain, and ice, the walls and roof of your building are constantly under mother nature’s attack. Over time, these natural elements can greatly reduce the life span of your building. For many commercial business owners, cladding serves as a way to protect the building from further damage, while also giving it an updated appearance.

Depending upon the materials used and the overall thickness, cladding can also:

  • provide insulation
  • reduce heat loss
  • conserve energy
  • reduce sound transmission

Cladding can outlast traditional wall material such as bricks. It can better withstand and hold up against the natural elements.

Updating the overall appearance of a commercial building can also be beneficial to the owners. An updated building will attract more renters and can even increase rent.

However, if you are considering installing cladding to update your commercial building, it is important to choose a distributor that is well aware of the complexities of building cladding. Some architects who are not experienced or trained in the application of cladding can in fact, lead to time and money lost.

Instead, choose a distributor that has years of experience creating cladding for commercial buildings. Uniqueness and options are very important when considering the distributor. Choose one who will use their years of experience to custom design an aesthetically pleasing design that will offer protection and an enhanced appearance.

Think about it. The exterior part of your building is the first thing that potential clients see. Greet and impress them with a trendy, up to date appearance.
